The Electrical Resistance Welding (ERW) pipe is a steel tubular product that has been welded using an electric resistance welding process longitudinally. Electric resistance welding is the process of slit, hot rolled coil steel that is cold formed through a series of rollers and into a pipe which is welded/fused through an electric charge.
ERW pipes are commonly used in a variety of applications due to their strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness. Applications include the construction industry, such as marine, stadia, bridges and various other infrastructure projects, in the oil and gas industry to transport oil and gas from drilling sites to refineries and in the manufacturing industry like agriculture and mining.
All our pipe is supplied from the various manufactured processes and grades outlined below:
- AS1163 C350L0 – Australian Standard Structural Steel Hollow Sections for ERW manufactured sections – Grade C350L0.
- API 5L X42 PSL1 – American Petroleum Institute Standard for Line pipe, Grade X42 | X52.
** Pipes/piles can be sourced at longer lengths or with piling shoes spliced/welded to AS1554.
